Lake Effects' training facility is at Brenric Stables 5095 Old State Road Edinboro, Pennsylvania.  We are located 14 minutes south of the Millcreek Mall just off Route 99

Riding lessons are for students whether you own your own horse or NOT.  If you do not own a horse, you can borrow a school horse from Brenric.  Our team, Lake Effect Equestrian, is comprised of riders in grades 4 through12.

Lake Effect has something for everyone from the beginner rider participating in weekly lessons to more avid competitors competing on a national level.  Our trainers, Lindsay Filley and Lori Hermann, have over 45 years’ experience combined.  Both coaches are USHJA Certified Trainers. Lindsay holds her USEF “r” judging license in Hunter and Hunter/Jumping Seat Equitation.

Our program at Lake Effect is based on Hunter/Jumper and Hunt Seat equitation disciplines.  Riders learn to not only be strong riders and have great horsemanship

but also some life lessons in teamwork, self-confidence and responsibility. When possible, our team helps support the local community with various adopt a horse programs and also community service projects at Erie & Saddle Club, which is a non-profit organization.

All ages of riders can compete on a local level but riders in grades 4th through 12th

can compete on a national level in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association,

competing with some of the best riders in the country.  For the IEA competition, you don’t need to own your own horse; you simply ride the horse you “draw” from random at the facility hosting the show.  We are very proud that various members of our team have competed at the National Finals.  This is quite an accomplishment since only approximately 400 riders make it to Nationals out of a pool of over 11,000 riders, putting Lake Effect in the top 3% of the national riders for IEA since the team was established in 2008.
